Howell Equipment, Inc. is a family owned business located in Natchitoches, Louisiana on the Highway 1 Bypass about 5 miles east of Interstate 49.
Larry Howell began his career in agricultural sales and service at local dealerships in the area and has formal and informal training on most makes and models of farm equipment. Several years ago he decided to go on his own, opened up a service center in his backyard, and went on the road servicing equipment for local farmers and contractors.
Word of Larry's quality work and reasonable pricing quickly began to spread and he was rapidly outgrowing the backyard. His vision had always been to one day have his own dealership, when a former acquaintance approached him to take on a line of tractors new to this area. With the support of his family and his father-in-law, Ray Parker (a 40+ year tractor dealership owner and veteran of the agriculture industry), Larry purchased the land, completed his building and introduced Branson Tractors to central Louisiana in April 2006.
Year one proved to be a great success as Howell Equipment also took on Bush Hog zero-turn lawn mowers and utility vehicles; American Sportworks (formerly Brister) Chuckwagons; CLAAS hay equipment; and continued to support the used equipment market.
Today, Howell Equipment is an authorized service dealer for Branson, Bush Hog, American Sportworks (Brister), CLAAS, and Vicon, as well as several other associated lines for loaders and implements. In addition to sales, we have a full service shop with several qualified mechanics to service products we sell, as well as other brands.
Our inventory consists of new and used tractors and hay equipment, along with most common attachments. We stock tractors from 20hp to 65hp, with new hp additions coming soon. We try to have on hand a tractor within this range to fit every need...AND pocketbook.
